Co-authored by Anna S. Rogers and Mathieu Deflem, this book presents a sociological examination of the evolving place and role of women in the heavy metal subculture. Grounded in feminist theories of gender difference, the study shows that despite postive changes for women, gendered conditions of masculinity continue to exist in the heavy metal subculture. Available in paperback and eBook.
